Christmas Party Fundraising Update

Greetings Parrot Heads …

I am happy to announce that the final totals are in from our fundraising efforts at the PHoPS Christmas Party on December 13th at the Burien Elks Lodge.

In total, our silent auction raised $860, the 50/50 raffle brought in $761 (which includes a $250 kickback from the winner Missy Wheat), and the “Heads or Tails” game another $383 (which includes a $100 kickback from the winner Scott Radford), for a total of $2,004. As we have been doing for the past couple of years with our fundraising efforts, PHoPS will be adding $500 in matching funds.

In addition, we collected 102 unwrapped toys, 2 bicycles, and $475 in gift cards for the Forgotten Children’s Fund!!

We will be presenting the Elks Children’s Therapy Program with a check for $2,504 at the Burien Elks Lodge Meeting this evening. I would like to thank everyone who attended the Christmas party, participated in the fundraising efforts, or brought gifts for the kids!! I also thank everyone who volunteered to help at the event and those who donated to the silent auction. We couldn’t “Party with a Purpose” without you.

Cheers,
Phil Pompeo

PHoPS Board of Director Nominations

Happy New Year to you and your families!

As we near the end of 2025, it’s time to start thinking about who we want to lead our club in 2026/27. The nomination period is January 1-31, 2026.

Our club had a great 2025; lots of fun activities/parties/house concerts, we raised money for several worthy charities and walked to end Alzheimer’s & Save the Manatees. We couldn’t have done any of those without the leadership of our board of directors!

You can nominate yourself or any PHoPS member in good standing for any of the positions. ‘Good Standing’ means you’ve been a club member for at least six months and you are current on your dues.

The board positions are: President, Treasurer, Membership Director, Social Director, and Communications Director. The Board position descriptions and election information are on our web site phops.com. Please familiarize yourself with how the election works and the position duties before you accept a nomination. You can always ask the person currently in that office.

Please send your nominations to Bobi Atlee*, starting 1/1/26.

Thank you!

*Bobi’s email address is available from any board member via the ‘contact us’ page.

Western Washington State Floods

Greetings Parrot Heads …

As you are certainly aware, Western Washington is currently seeing devastating record flooding that is impacting many communities.  If you have been affected by the flooding, as a member of the Parrot Heads of Puget Sound, you could be eligible for financial aid from the Lone Palm Foundation Emergency Phund.

The Lone Palm Foundation is the charitable arm of Parrot Heads in Paradise, our national governing body.   The purpose of the Emergency Phund is to aid Parrot Heads with financial difficulties resulting from a natural disaster.  If you are in need and believe you are eligible to apply, please visit www.lonepalmfoundation.org for more information or contact me directly for further assistance.

I wish you all the best this holiday season, and I look forward to seeing more than 100 PHoPS members and friends tomorrow evening at our annual Christmas Party.

Sincerely,
Phil Pompeo
