Parrot Tales

Hi everyone,

Corey here — Nikki and I just would like to share a little about what we’re working on.

The short version is that Parrot Tales is simply about capturing the stories of the Parrot Head community — the moments, memories, friendships, concerts, and life chapters where Jimmy Buffett’s music somehow became part of the story.

Over the years we’ve realized that almost every Parrot Head has a story. Sometimes it’s the first song that hooked you, sometimes it’s a concert memory, sometimes it’s a place, a group of friends, or a chapter of life where Buffett’s music just seemed to be the soundtrack.

Parrot Tales is our way of preserving some of those stories while the community that lived them is still here to tell them.

This is one piece of a bigger project we’re beginning called Sandbar Stories: A Jimmy Buffett Odyssey, where our family will eventually set out on a sailing pilgrimage to visit many of the places connected to Jimmy’s songs and storytelling — collecting stories from the community along the way.

But at the heart of it, this is really about the people.

Over the next few weeks I’ll follow up with a more formal communication to guage who might enjoy sharing a quick story on camera — just short, relaxed conversations about your Buffett memories and what the music has meant in your life.

Nothing formal, nothing complicated — just good stories.

We’re really looking forward to hearing some of those stories.

Corey & Nikki

All the places made up and true — these stories aren’t for us, they’re for you.

Daylight Saving Time is HERE !!!

“Good day, Mr. and Mrs. Parrot Head, and all the ships at sea . . .

Daylight Saving Time starts TONIGHT!

Here’s a quick how-to explanation…

The hard way: (don’t do this) 🚫
You set your alarm clock for 2am, then go around your house and set all your clocks an hour forward. Only then you can go back to sleep, with the knowledge that you’ve fully completed at least one task for the day, which should make getting back to sleep relatively easy. And you probably would have been very well rested in the morning, had you remembered to reset your alarm clock to get you up at a reasonable time. But now you’ve overslept, and you’ve started to run around like crazy trying to get ready, nearly falling down the stairs and stubbing your little toe on the corner of your bed. And after adding the extra hour because of the clock change, you decide that the breakfast date you had arranged just wasn’t worth the risk today. So you crawl back into bed and hope for a much more leisurely afternoon.

The easy way: (do this) 👇🏼✅
Most of our clocks and watches change themselves. You can adjust the ones that don’t, later, over the next few months. And just don’t even bother with the car dash clock!

Stay safe out there!!!
